Rob Spiering | VP Global Mining and Mineral Processing

Rob SpieringRob Spiering is a project director with over 30 years’ experience in the execution of projects in the mining, industrial, and oil and gas industries. Rob is global leader in NI43-101 projects which include CAPEX, OPEX Cashflow and Economic Analysis.  By taking a comprehensive approach to include all facets of the project, Rob leads teams to accurate estimates for all stages of the project and value enhancement studies that maximize NPV and IRR. Additional areas of expertise include: economic analysis/feasibility studies, value add engineering, and capital and operating cost estimates. 

Tony Warner | Principal Process Specialist

Tony WarnerTony Warner is a global expert, with nearly 50 years’ experience in the base metal (primarily nickel, copper and cobalt) pyrometallurgical industry within operations, R&D, and engineering. Throughout his storied career he has held senior roles at the superintendent/manager level in process engineering, plant engineering, process technology and development, smelter operations, pilot plant operations, and R&D management in product and process research. His expertise includes operational excellence in unit processes including furnaces, dryers, kilns, and convertors. Tony’s depth of experience also spans base smelting and refining, recycling metal plants, and refinery expertise in precious metals, cobalt, and nickel. 

Donovan Munro Director, Mining

Donovan MunroDonovan Munro has nearly 20 years’ experience in the M&M industry. As a mining engineer, his expertise spans the management of public reporting studies and the study management of surface and underground mine projects around the world in a diverse range of commodities including base and precious metals, diamonds, iron ore, mineral sands, and coal. His experience also includes business-level decision making that includes due diligence, and mergers and acquisitions. 

Colette Ng Team Leader, Smelting and Refining

Colette NgColette Ng has over 25 years of experience in the base metals industry. Her background is extractive metallurgy, specializing in pyrometallurgy with exposure to copper, lead, nickel, tin, zinc, and iron operations. She has worked in all facets of the industry from process development and studies to construction, commissioning, and operations and has extensive experience in the design and application of top submerged lance (TSL) technology.

David Wong Project Manager, Minerals and Metals, Americas

David WongDavid Wong has over 14 years’ experience, primarily in non-ferrous metallurgical industry. His expertise spans all phases of project delivery ranging from pre-feasibility studies to detailed engineering, including NI 43-101 reports, and construction and commissioning in various roles including mechanical and project engineering as well as project management. He has additional experience in process design, equipment and systems design and layout, customer and vendor liaising, and construction and commissioning experience as the field engineer for several projects. David has a particular focus on base metal smelting and refining primarily of nickel and copper. 

Masoud Gorjian Process Engineering Manager

Masoud GorjianMasoud Gorjian has over 23 years’ experience in process engineering and operations of mineral processing and metallurgical plants. His knowledge covers the management of metallurgical plants and process engineering teams, designing different unit operations, commissioning, start-up and optimization of different processes. He has strong engineering and operational knowledge for designing iron ore concentrators, agglomeration plants (pelletizing and sintering plants), direct reduction plants (Midrex, HYL, ENERGIRON), steel making plants and ferro-vanadium plants, as well as different unit operations such as comminution, screening, dewatering (thickening, filtration), and electrical arc and rotary hearth furnaces. His expertise includes plant performance evaluation and metallurgical test plans including sample selection, bench scale tests and pilot test programs, and analysis and scaling up the results into the design of relevant processes.
