Prince Rupert gas transmission

British Columbia, Canada, Prince Rupert

Our marine scientists and engineers understand the challenges of working in the marine environment. Their depth of practical experience delivers certainty to our clients.

The Situation

Prince Rupert Gas Transmission (PRGT) is a proposed 900-kilometre natural gas pipeline project in northern British Columbia, Canada. The route includes approximately 110 km of sub-sea pipeline from Nass Bay to Lelu Island, near Prince Rupert.

Approach

Advisian supported PRGT with marine environmental engineering and permitting services. This included preparation of marine environmental management plans, technical review of marine components of the Environmental Assessment Application and other permitting documentation; integration of environmental mitigation and management within FEED and contractor specifications; and contract documentation for the marine section of the pipeline.

Results

PRGT is developing a robust marine environmental management and monitoring program that is integrated with engineering design and construction planning, and supported by communities and regulators.

Advisian continues to assist PRGT with construction readiness and permitting.
