Case Study

West Kowloon Cultural District Authority

Business people walking across path in Hong Kong

Designing and implementing world-class, innovative and integrated leadership practices including workforce planning, professional standards development, succession management and career development.

The Situation

The West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD) Authority was established to develop a world-class, multi-billion (A$) cultural district on the shores of Hong Kong harbour. WKCD is one of the largest cultural projects in the world, blending art, education and open space in a stunning location.

Approach

Advisian was engaged to assist with a range of aspects of this project, including the development of selected people strategies and management systems. Our approach commenced with a pilot program encompassing high levels of stakeholder staff engagement, world-wide benchmarking of comparable culture and art facilities and strategic organisational frameworks development.

Results

This approach resulted in the design of workforce planning, professional standards development, and succession management and career development frameworks - helping WKCDA bring together its people vision and contemporary leadership practices while preserving important elements of the Hong Kong workplace culture.
